Franklin LaFayette Hughey, 88, a resident of the county for 80 years died at 7:40 p.m. yesterday at his home near Bonnie.
Funeral services will be held in Myers chapel at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday conducted by the Rev. Bird Green. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Opdyke.
Mr. Hughey was born August 1, 1857 in Crittenden county, Ky., the son of John R. and Mary (Crider) Hughey. He was united in marriage to Kizzie B. Puckett, April 12, 1878 who preceded him in death July 5, 1932.
Mr. Hughey was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 13 in Mt. Vernon and the Free Will Babtist Church.
Survivng are two sons, Albert Hughey of Bonnie, John Hughey of Opdyke, two daughters Mrs. Mary L. Mckee of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Lottie L. Joy of Bonnie; 37 grandchildern, 52 great grandchildern. One son and one daughter preceded him in death.
He was the last surviving member of his father's family of nine children.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel.
