Mary "Polly" Crider Hughey is the daughter of Henry Crider and Catherine Crider (they were first cousins). Polly Crider married John Robert Hughey in Livingston County, KY on 23 Apr 1835. They had the following children: William A (1836-1894), John H (1838-1923), Isaac N (1840-1908), Jacob L (1843-1928), Daniel W (1846-1890), Sarah L (1848-1932), Thomas M (1851-1925), Mary M (1854-1942) and Franklin L (1857-1946). William A and Sarah L are also buried in Flint Cemetery.

From the diary of John Henry Hughey, son of Mary Crider Hughey: January 25, 1894:
My dear Mother died. Aged 76-9-8. I was not present and had not seen Mother since last August. I know of no person with whom I have been so intimate of whom I know less of weakness and fault. Mother from childhood was given to toil and care. The memory of the first is blessed.
