Roy Michael Strickland, of Opp, Alabama passed away, Saturday, June 29, 2019, at his residence. He was 56.
Funeral 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2019, at Keahey Chapel. with Roy Bozeman. OfficatingInterment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Opp. The family will receive friend Friday from 9 a.m., until the time of services. Serving as pallbearers will be John Odekirk, Travis Carnley, Jimmy Moore, Phillip Neal, Will Eldridge, Mikie Carter.
Born June 18, 1963, he was the son of the late Roy Strickland and Ruth Mancil Fleming Strickland. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Makayla Jade and a sister, Cynthia Strickland. He was an avid Nascar and Alabama football fan and worked as a diesel mechanic and long-distance truck driver most of his life, while truck driving, he traveled over most of the United States, and loved every day of it.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Heather (Cody) Strickland of Opp; son, Joseph (Cheyenne) Strickland of Opp; the mother of his children, Cindy Strickland; grandchildren, Kaylee, C.J., Payton, Blake, Jadah, Aleah, Bailey, Harper, Bellah; brothers, Manuel Strickland of Opp; Marty (Denise) Strickland of Prattville; sisters, Debbie Kilcrease of Andalusia; Donna (Shane) Carter of Andalusia; Christy (John) Musgrove of Opp.
