Oscar Charles Davis Jr., a Vacaville resident, left our presence June 24, 2019, at 1 p.m.
Oscar was born in Newark, New Jersey, on April 14, 1947, to parents Mildred Hiralson and Oscar C. Davis Sr.
He married his wife, Chung Yin Kao-Yang, Nov. 23, 1969, passing away a few months shy of their 50th anniversary. Oscar spent 21 years in the USAF and retired a Senior Master Sergeant in 1987 and is a Vietnam Veteran. Shortly after retiring he worked 16 years for Chevron Oil Refinery before retiring in 2008. He was a volunteer fireman during his days at Chevron. Although a quiet man, he enjoyed his grandkids and was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, as well as the L.A. Dodgers by way of Brooklyn.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Chung Yin (Jenny); two sons, James and Brion (Erin Yvonne Davis); five grandkids, Xavionna, Anthony, Marley, Kai and Evan; niece, Tiesha; and nephew, Kenneth. Last surviving member of their generation, daughter of Kathryn Bethea, Kathi (Tootsie).
A service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.
