James married again around 1922 to Rose Mary Price, who was born in Louisiana and was living in Orange, Texas at the time of their marriage. James and Rose would remain married until James’ death in 1982. They would have at least three children together, William Price (b. 1923), Patricia Diane (b. 1935), and Thomas Harold (b. 1939). The family moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama from Orange, Texas in the late 1920’s, and this became their final home.

Funeral services for James M. Armstrong, Sr., 85, of 509 13th Street, who died Wednesday at Druid City Hospital were to be at 1 p.m. today at Hayes Chapel Funeral Home. Dr. Simril Bryan and the Rev. John Hall were to officiate, with burial in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose M. Price Armstrong, Tuscaloosa; three sons, J.M. Armstrong, Jr., Jackson, Miss.; Col. William P. Armstrong, Daphne, Thomas H. Armstrong, Mobile; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Armstrong Ellis, Texarkana, Texas; two brothers, W. Clarence Armstrong, R. C. Armstrong, Orange, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Rosalie Harmon, Orange, Texas, Mrs. Willie Lee DeLane, Orange, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Davis, Mike Guin, Oliver McAllister, W. C. Armstrong. Jr., Major W. B. Armstrong, Jr., and Cary Boswell.
Honorary pallbearers will be present and former employees of Gulf States Paper Corp.
