Albert Taylor Burton, Sr., 73 of North Vernon and formerly of Mooresville passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Trinity Full Gospel Church in North Vernon with Reverends Robert Johnson, Dillon Beckett and James Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Services in North Vernon and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. A Masonic service will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Monday evening by the North Vernon F.&A.M. Lodge #59. Interment will be at Vernon Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and VFW Post 2021.

Born June 22, 1946 in Columbia, Kentucky, Albert was the son of the late Luther and Agnes Marie DeHart Burton. He served in the United States Army from 1966 until 1972. It was during this time he married the love of his life and wife of more than 50 years, Carolyn Burton on August 10, 1968.

Albert thoroughly enjoyed genealogy and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as someone that loved life.

Mr. Burton is survived by his wife, Carolyn Burton of Commiskey, a son, James Kelly (Chasity) Burton of Clarksville, TN, a daughter, Tonya (Henry) Armour of Indianapolis, eight grandchildren, Joshua Taylor Burton, Jordan Devon Beckett, Dillon Taylor Beckett, Cody Preston Burton, Mackenzie Brooke Burton, Reagan Kellie Burton, Tatiana Armour and TyShaun Armour, four great-grandchildren, Jack, Archor, Ronan and Amelia, five brothers, David (Janet) Burton and Robert (Mary) Burton both of Campbellsville, KY, Larry (Angie) Burton and Greg (Peggy) Burton both of Seymour and James Allen Burton of Carrolton, KY and two sisters, Brenda (Steve) Kirksey of Paris, TN and Ramona Jackson of Campbellsville, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Agnes Burton, a son, Albert Burton Jr. and two brothers, Alford and Alvin Burton.
