GUTSHALL - BENNETT. - On Thursday, the 17th inst., at the hotel in Blain, by Rev. J. Frazier, George W. Gutshall, of Perry county (sic), Pa., to Miss Celestian (sic) Bennett, of Juniata county (sic), Pa.

Mrs. Celestia A. Gutshall, wife of George W. Gutshall died at her home in this place, (Blain,) after several months of illness. Her death was caused from Bright's disease and valvular heart trouble. She was patient in her suffering. A large circle of friends were sorry to hear of her death.

Mrs. Celestia A. Bennett Gutshall was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania, on July 1, 1849 and died May 29, 1918 aged 68 years, 10 months and 28 days. She was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Boling) Bennett.

Mrs. Gutshall was united in marriage to George W. Gutshall, on September 17, 1874, in Blain, by the Rev. Mr. Frazier, a Lutheran minister. They have lived together for almost 44 years and reared a large family. Seven children were born to their union. The first born, a son who died in infancy.

Those living are; William G. Gutshall of Blain, married to Miss May Rickard; Sarah Elizabeth, married to F.M. Morrow, living in Swissville, Pa.; Harry W. Gutshall, married to Miss Grace Drumgold, living in Jackson township; Mary Belle at home; Margaret Jane married to D.C. Drumgold, living in Blain, and George L. Gutshall in the army stationed at the Panama Coast. There are fifteen grandchildren. Mrs. Gutshall is also survived by Mr. Gutshall and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Lizzie Jacobs, of Warble, Juniata County; William N. Bennett, of Duncannon; Mrs. W.D. Beale and Mrs. Thomas Van Swinger, of Shenandoah, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Gutshall have lived happily together these many years. She was a kind and thoughtful wife and mother. The family have the sincere sympathy of all in their sad bereavement. Mrs. Gutshall was a good neighbor whereever she resided. After her marriage to Mr. Gutshall they took up housekeeping on formerly the W.B. Gutshall now occupied by A.D. Neidigh, 1 1/2 miles west of the town in the year 1874 where they resided till 1890, when they went to Juniata County and lived for two years. Returning they lived sometimes on the same farm they occupied and on the S.B. Gutshall farm until fourteen years ago when they moved to Blain.

Mrs. Gutshall was baptized in the faith of the Reformed church in infancy and united in the church in young years. She united with the Lutheran church after her marriage and has been a faithful member. She was a member of the Ladies Mite Society.

The funeral was held at the late home of the deceased, the Rev. J.W. Weeter and the Rev. J.C. Reighard, officiating. Interment was made in the Gutshall burial plot, adjoining the Union Cemetery. The pallbearers were; L.M. Wentzel, R.K. Hench, W.T. Drumgold, C.R. Hench, W.I. Stokes, and L.A. Snyder. Beautiful floral tributes were presented by friends.

Zeigler, of Lykens; Mrs. William Beale and Mrs. Thomas Van Swinger, of Shenandoah, Iowa; Mrs. Diana Morrison, Joseph Tressler, Mrs. Oliver Bistline, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tressler, of New Germantown.
