The Gettysburg Compiler April 6, 1910

Harry Bennett, a highly respected citizen of Franklin township fell dead at his home about a half mile from Seven Stars, on Tuesday evening of last week. He had been suffering from heart disease but had been going about attending to his accustomed work. On Easter he had attended church. Tuesday evening he was at work feeding his pigs when he was suddenly overcome by his heart trouble and death was instantaneous. He was born in the county and lived here his whole life engaged in farming. He was a veteran of the civil war. The funeral was held on last Friday, Rev. E.W. Stonebraker conducting the services, with interment in the Fairfield cemetery. His wife, who was Susan Virginia Firor, died last September after a lingering illness. He leaves six sons and two daughters, John F., Dayton, Ohio; William, of Columbus, Ohio, amos Bennett, of Terre Haute, Ind., Marion Bennet of San Diego, California, Adam and Fred of this county, Mrs. Roy Rice, of Perry county and Mrs. P.J. Schriver, of Loogootee, Ill.
