Gloria Jean Reeves was born on December 27, 1940, in Jacksonville, Texas to Sam and Lucille Childs. She married Charles Reeves on August 10, 1957. Jean worked in the banking industry as Vice President Trust Officer in Alice, Texas before coming back to East Texas. Her most recent position was with Texas Bank and Trust where she was Vice President in the Trust Department.
She was an active member of First Christian Church, made many dear friends in her lifetime, and enjoyed her time spent with them.
Jean devoted hours of personal time to the Longview community through her memberships in the United Way, Women's Forum, PROMISE Guild, and Good Shepard Estate Planning Council. She served as a board member for the American Heart Association and was the co-chair for the Heart Ball and Gold Rush charity events. Her greatest love and most valued accomplishments were her sons and grandsons. She was a true matriarch of the Reeves family, and will be deeply missed.
Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth White and her brother-in-law, Ervin White.
