Funeral services for Bryan H. Stevens, 69, were held Saturday afternoon from the Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Linder officiating. Burial was in the Page Cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Page American Legion.
Bryan H. Stevens was born on October 13, 1895, at Middle Branch and died Wednesday morning at his home.
He grew to manhood in the Middle Branch community. He served in the United States Army as a Radio operator during World War I. After his discharge from service he ran his father's store and post office at Middlebranch until moving to Page in 1920. Mr. Stevens was in the produce business for several years. In 1941, he was appointed Postmaster at Page, a position he held until his death. He had been commended several times by the post office officials for his efficiency in his office.
Mr. Stevens was a member of the IOOF Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of World War I and the National Association of Postmasters. He was a avid sportsman and a lover of flowers and gardening.
He married Mable Bradshaw on December 14, 1919, and they became the parents of seven children.
Survivors include the widow, Mabel, sons, Elvin, San Manuel, Arizona, and Kenneth, Hoyt Lake, Minn., daughters, Majorie Parks, Omaha, Barbara Brant, Atkinson, Lorna LaFave, Onida, S.D., Carol Cable, Coon Rapids, Minn., Wanda Johnson, San Manuel, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Waring, Page; brothers, Clarence, Lincoln, Willis, Oskosh, Wis., Alva, Loomis, Calif., and Raymond, Orchard. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
