Nancy was the oldest daughter of George and Barbara Eby. Soon after her marriage to David Erb, the couple moved to a farm north-east of the town of Waterloo. They resided here for many years, but after their family was raised, they sold the farm and moved to Bridgeport, Ontario, where they lived until David's death on August 25, 1883. After his death, Nancy moved to live with her daughter, Susan, in Thedford, Ontario, where she died.
