Obituary.

Miss Belle Hilyard, daughter of Morris and Maggie Hilyard, passed to the higher life on the 24th day of October 1889. She was taken with typhoid fever and died with hemorrhage of the bowels after an illness of eleven days. She leaves a kind father and mother, one brother and four sisters, to mourn her loss, who sorrow not as those who have no hope for the dead, but all live unto God; therefore, whatever living or dying we are the Lord's; so we rest in hope that we shall all meet again n that sweet bye and bye where one parting will be no more.

Belle Hilyard was born in Macon county, Illinois, July 23d, 1870, and was 19 years, 3 months and 1 day old when she died. There was no funeral discourse delivered but there was a beautiful hymn sung that touched the hearts of all present. There was a beautiful chapter read by J.P. Hilyard, and prayer offered up to God to give us strength to bear our bereavements and to live in hope that we shall all meet again, for she has passed the seal of death, and dwells with friends over there. But we know she cannot drift beyond God's love and care.
J.P. Hilyard.
