She was born on June 1, 1924 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jesse Dodson Holt and Winnie Georgia Van Hook Holt.
Jessie was an outgoing, vivacious and independent woman. She lived her life to its fullest and was noted for her love for life and compassion to others. She was a long-time dedicated employee of the Kroger Company in Cincinnati until her retirement. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed singing and eating her favorite foods and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Jessie is preceded in death by her parents; Jesse and Winnie Holt, her siblings; Maydell Dykes, Hyle Holt, Coyd Holt, Geraldine Whitla, Dennis Holt, Georgia Powell and Jimmy Holt.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved sister; Jewell Holt Florea of Somerset, a special nephew and caregiver; Arnold and his wife Carolyn Dykes of Cincinnati and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Arnold Dykes officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in the Dykes Community.
