Nell Faust Anderson of Springfield died Friday, June 22, 2007, in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Anderson "loved life" and had much enthusiasm for teaching, having taught at Albany, Springfield and Southwood Academy in Hammond. She was a graduate in education from Southeastern Louisiana University with a motto of "excellence in education." She loved teaching English and coached the Albany High School girls' basketball team to a state championship. She was also active in community service including the Hammond Garden Club, chairman of the Women's Committee of the Livingston Parish Farm Bureau, board member and chairman of the talent show for the Livingston Parish Fair.

She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Mary-Nell Anderson Pollet of Baton Rouge; two grandsons, David Anderson Pollet and Mark Stephen Pollet; two granddaughters, Danielle Marie Pollet and Mary-Grace Pollet; three sisters, Estelle Glynn of Kenner, Stella Goodspeed of Springfield, and Eloise Tate of Mississippi; two brothers, Fitzhugh Lee Faust of Springfield and LeeRoy Faust of Central; and a son-in-law, Dr. Stephen Michael Pollet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sidney Anderson Sr.; her son, A. "Sid" Anderson Jr., D.D.S.; sisters, Amy Voss, Velma Carpenter, Winnie Fleniken and Ann McIntyre; and a brother, L.A. Faust.

Visitation will be at Woodland Baptist Church in Springfield until funeral service. The Rev. David L. Theriot will be conducting the service. Interment will follow in the Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Woodland Baptist Church in Springfield or McMains Cerebral Palsy Center in Baton Rouge. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Ollie-Steele Burden, Lynn Pennington and Dr. Susan Nelson.
