*Daughter of James Armitage Gano and Sarah (Swager) Gano.
***In the letter from John Armitage Gano, Trumbull Co., Ohio to his younger brother, Jeremiah C. Gano, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, dated February 7, 1842, he writes in the course of the letter, the names of his five children, including the youngest child; "Elizabeth Milly metildy megee (Gano) the reason the last childs name is so long the calculation is that she is the nest eg(g)."
*A Guardianship document from Trumbull Co., Ohio, dated November 29, 1853, states that Matilda M. Gano, reaches the age of 16 on January 17, 1853, making her birth year 1837.
*Matilda M. Gano married 1st husband, Findley J. Anderson, on December 1, 1853 in Trumbull Co., Ohio.
*Milla M. (Gano) Anderson married 2nd husband, James H. Osgood, Jr., on July 12, 1860 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts.
~Note: Marriage record states her parents were John and Sarah Gano and that she was born in Liberty, Ohio.
