Daughter of Charles Herrewegh & Pauline Buys, she was born in Clinge- a town on the Belgian Dutch border which adjoins the Dutch town of De Klinge.

Sister of Mathilda Justina (Joseph) DeVos (30 July 1878- 3 Nov 1957 Chicago).

Wife of Louis De Weirdt who was born in De Klinge, Holland. The couple immigrated to the US with their two children, Alois & Matilda, sailing on the Vaderland from Antwerp and arriving on Ellis Island on 26 April 1911.

They settled in St Charles, IL where their youngest child, Mary, was born.
