He was born November 25, 1928 at his grandparents home in Manti, Utah to Danforth Joy "Dan" Coonradt Jr. and Arminta "Peggy" Manwill.
He was an alumnus of West High School. He married Darline Jenkins on November 25, 1946 in Salt Lake City. Dan was a giving, loving friend to everyone, always greeting you with a friendly wave.
He loved art and used his artistic talent in both his personal and professional life. He was admired and respected for his beautiful tile work.
He began his career at Caffall Tile and later opened his own business, Cottonwood Tile. He took pride in being a hard worker.
Due to his love for airplanes and flying, he took lessons and got his wings, but his greatest joy was his family and the time he spent together skiing, boating, motorcycling, hunting, camping, fishing, and especially the times at his property where everyone frequently gathered.
He was survived by Darline, his wife of 60 years, his children Connie (Kelly) Buckley, Mary Lynn (Gary) Steed, Ann (Craig) Lott, Pam (Kirk) Leaming and Steve (Ginger) Coonradt, Siblings, Gene (Arlene) Coonradt, George (Jill) Coonradt and Leo (Teddy) Coonradt, and by his 23 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He also has two great-great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara and daughter Christine.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive in East Millcreek, Utah. Friends and family attended a viewing on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Dan was buried on what would have been his fathers 100 birthday.
