Rodney Gene Thomas was born January 20, 1954 in Pryor, OK to John W. & Joan (Hughes) Thomas. He departed this life on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of 64 years, 9 months, & 16 days.
Rodney grew up in Rose where he attended the Smith Chapel School from the 1st through the 4th grade. He then attended Locust Grove Schools where he graduated with the Locust Grove High School class of 1972. As a young man, he attended the Smith Chapel Church. Rodney & Ann Conatzer had been married for over 30 years, & together, they had made Chouteau, OK their home during their time together.
Rodney had worked at the Pryor Foundry for some time. He had also worked for Mazie Lumber & later was employed as a sales clerk for Orscheln Farm & Home in Pryor. Rodney enjoyed fishing. As well, he loved being outside & doing yard work. He also enjoyed playing games on his computer. Rodney will be missed greatly.
Rodney is survived by: His wife: Ann of the home; 1 sister: Christine Cox of Bixby, OK; Aunt & Uncle: Helen & Bob Valeski of Broken Arrow, OK; Numerous cousins, that even though there were many, they were all loved by Rodney, other relatives & a host of friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents & his grandparents: Jim & Ida (Cummings) Hughes.
Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gerald Grass and Brother Danny Henson officiated. Interment followed at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Rose, Oklahoma, with Reverend Rick Condit officiating the graveside committal. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
