James David Trimble was born October 16, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Joel David and Ona Mae (Swaggerty) Trimble. He departed this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

James lived most of his life in Delaware County. He graduated from Oaks High School with the class of 1952. After being drafted into the United Sates Navy, he served his country proudly from March 21, 1956 until his discharge on March 20, 1962.

On May 6, 1955 in Oaks, Oklahoma, James David Trimble and Clara Ann Goedecke were united in marriage. To this union were born 2 sons, Jeffrey and Kevin, and a daughter, who was the apple of her daddy’s eye, Carla. James and Ann were married for over 63 years.

James worked for the Walter O’Bannon Company in Tulsa for 17 years. He saved his money and returned to Delaware County with his family. He bought a dairy where he and Ann worked side by side for over 26 years. They also raised broiler chickens, cattle, and horses. James especially loved to work with his horses.

James stayed busy all the time. When time allowed, he enjoyed doing woodwork. One of his last projects was building an addition on to the family home. James had been a member of the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church since 1958. He loved his church family dearly and was faithful in regular attendance. Over the years, he served as church trustee and Sunday School Superintendent. He will be missed dearly.

James is survived by:

2 sons: Jeffery Trimble of Kansas, Oklahoma;
CH (MAJ) Kevin Trimble and wife Darla of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas;

3 grandchildren: Captain Nathan Trimble and wife Delaney of Fort Benning, Georgia;
Rachel Spiller and husband Kingsley of Columbia, South Carolina; and
Hannah Lisenbee of Kansas, Oklahoma;

2 great grandchildren: Eleanor Spiller and Henry Cash Trimble;

1 brother: Laverne Trimble and wife Pat of Shell Knob, Missouri;

1 sister: Jettie Forest of Grove, Oklahoma;

Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

James was preceded in death by: his parents; a daughter: Carla Ann Lisenbee; two brothers: Wayne Trimble and Leroy Trimble.

The family ask that donations be made to the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church, Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 5, 2019, at the Lowery Free Will Baptist Church near Kansas, Oklahoma. Reverend Lance Rogers and Reverend Doug Carey officiated. Interment followed at the Oaks Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
