She was born on June 8, 1932 in Monticello, IN to the late Clarence and Hattie (McCloud) Raderstorf. On February 2, 1956 in Kentland, IN, she married Roy S. Miller; he passed away on September 16, 1997. Then on August 5, 2006 at the Sitka Baptist Church, she married William H. "Bill" Baxter; he survives.
Jewel had lived in the Monon, IN area for the last thirteen years, moving from the Monticello/Buffalo, IN area. She was a long-time member of the Sitka Baptist Church. Jewel had worked at the former Bryan Mfg and the old RCA Factory, both in Monticello. After the RCA Factory closed, she went to work at Indiana Ribbon in Wolcott. Jewel was a 52-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2570 Auxiliary in Monticello. She was a "Jack of All Trades, Master of None". Jewel enjoyed traveling with husband Bill and friends and going to visit the cemeteries.
She is survived by her husband, William Baxter; two children; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two stepsons; one stepdaughter-in-law; and several stepgrandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; one stepson, William E. Baxter; one sister, Dora Bell Raderstorf; and two brothers, Reuben Raderstorf and Walter Raderstorf.
Visitation will be from noon to 3:00 PM on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Dr. Rev. James Elliott of the Sitka Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will take place in Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, IN.
