OBITUARY
Frances Rekieta Mileski
September 30, 1920 – June 15, 2019

After a lengthy illness, Frances Rekieta Mileski, age 98, of Houston, Texas, died peacefully in the home that she loved, on 6/15/2019, with her two surviving children at her side. Frances was born to the late Edna and Steve Rekieta on 9/30/1920, in Bremond, Texas, which was her childhood home. She was the second of six children. Frances was married to Kie Mileski in 1944, who predeceased her in 1995. She had three children: Billy Mileski, Barbara Mileski Ryals, and Debbie Mileski Longano.
Frances loved her entire family, and family was her primary life focus. She was a hard worker, who created a loving and stable home, and her devotion and love as a mother was her greatest accomplishment. She was the epitome of what a mother should be: nurturing, available, and always giving of her time and energy. She was the heart of her children. Frances hosted many family get togethers in her home for her extended family, providing fond and warm memories for us all.
Frances was an active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, serving her church in several capacities. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus (Council 2917) Ladies Auxiliary. Frances worked in sales the majority of her life, retiring at age 65.
She is predeceased by her older sister, Mary Rekieta, her younger sister, Louise Stoever, and her two younger brothers, Pete and Paul Rekieta. She is survived by her youngest sibling, Floyd (Sandra) Rekieta. Frances was predeceased by one of her precious children, Barbara Ryals, in 2015, as well as by Barbara’s husband, John Ryals, in 1995. In addition to her surviving children, Billy (Jenny) Mileski and Debbie (Bernie) Longano, Frances is survived by her grandchildren, Jason (Ana) Mileski, Ryan (Kristina) Mileski, Lauren Mileski, and Crystal Cobb; great grandchildren Bryan and Lance Mileski, and Kara and Ethan Morales; and, numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her children, a special team of caregivers assisted in taking care of Frances during her illness, to whom we are most grateful: Sandra Garcia, Deborah Melder, Paola Pico, and Teresa Marraudino, as well as to previous caretaker Najma Ahmed, and to Houston Hospice personnel.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, 1200 W 34th St., Houston, Texas, from 5 to 8 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm. A mass of Christian celebration will be on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St., Houston, Texas at 11 am.
The world is left a better place having been touched by this kind and loving woman.
