Nicholas Petri, 78, town of Mishicot retired blacksmith, died at the Holy Family hospital Saturday night following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon from the Jansky funeral home in Two Rivers, the Rev. W.G. Haase officiating. Burial will be in the Forest View cemetery.

Mr. Petri was born in Mishicot township in 1865 and learned the smithy trade when a young man, receiving his training at Cleveland. He opened a blacksmith shop on Washington street in this city and operated it until the passing of the horse and buggy era, retiring to a farm at Loomis, Wisconsin. He operated his farm there until a few years ago when he returned to near Mishicot to make his home. His wife, the former Dora Owart, preceded him in death 12 years ago.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Lester Koster, Green Bay; two sons, Emil at home and Arno of Green Bay; a sister Mrs. Arno Brandhorst of Duluth, Minn.; and two brothers John Petri of Loomis and Frank of Oconto.
