AGED RESIDENT TO BE HONORED AT DINNER TONIGHT
Mrs. Nicholas Simonis, who is eighty years old today will be honored at a dinner party tonight at the J.N Simonis home. Wife of the city's oldest resident, Mrs. Simonis is herself a daughter of one of the city's earlist residents. Katherine Peterik before her marriage to Mr. Simonis almost 60 years ago, she has lived and been a part of Two Rivers' development from a tiny village to the city which it has now become. Mr. Simonis observed his 90th birthday anniversary February 26 and the couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary November 17 of this year.

MRS. SIMONIS DIES AT HOME
County Pioneer, 84 Years Old, Succumbs After Long Illness
TWO RIVERS, (special)—In ill health for more than a year, Mrs. Catherine Simonis, 84, life long resident of the county and widow of Nicholas Simonis, died at the family home at 2405 Washington street at 6:50 o’clock this
morning.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock from the home and at 9:30 from St. Luke’s Catholic church, the Very Rev. Dean C. V. Hugo officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Holy Cross cemetery. The body will be brought to the residence from the Beduhn funeral home Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Simonis, nee Catherine Petri, was born at School section, March 18, 1852, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Petri, who immigrated from the Rhine river section of Germany many years before. She was married in the Mishicot Holy Cross church on November 17, 1872 to Nicholas Simonis of this city. The couple made their home in Two Rivers where she resided since.

On November 17, 1932 the couple observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary with a celebration which their seven children and many of their grand and great grandchildren attended. Mr. Simonis, who was the oldest resident in the city, and widely known in musical circles, preceded her in death nearly four years ago, on January 8, 1933.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Frank Becker, Mrs. William G. Ahearn, Mrs. Stephen Gruman and Mrs. Peter Karl, all of this city, and three sons, Albert and Otto of this city and Ernest J. Simonis of Milwaukee. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Anna Brandhorst of Duluth, Minn.; three brothers, Frank of Oconto, John of Loomis and Nicholas Petri of Stevens Point; 34 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
