DeLoris Siverts Anderson
1932 - 2018

Early Life: DeLoris was born October 16, 1932, in Glendive, Montana, to Edward Curtis Siverts and Elsie Bren Siverts. DeLoris spent the Great Depression in Baker, Montana, and during World War II she lived in Superior, Wisconsin. Again, she resided in Glendive for her high school and junior college days, where she excelled in softball, basketball and tennis.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: DeLoris worked as draftsman to pay for her degree in physical education at Montana State University, where she was a star athlete in tennis and badminton. DeLoris taught in Del Norte, Colorado and Lewistown, Montana. On August 11, 1957, she married her golfing buddy and an educator, George Richard "Dick" Anderson, in Dawson County, Montana. They moved to Salinas, California, where they raised two children. When the couple was not immersed in Salinas High sporting events, George and DeLoris played tennis or golf. They coached First Tee, helping young folks learn to play golf and the art of persistence. An educator, athlete, artist, baker, gardener, tailor, and a thimble collector, DeLoris' hands were always in motion. If she was not making something, she was mastering a tool. A consummate improviser, she continually coached others on how to be creative with materials and situations. Her ingenuity made her a great Scout leader and indispensable friend. DeLoris Siverts Anderson passed away June 7, 2018, in Orem, Utah. She was 85.
Family Message: "...donations can be made to the National Kidney Association."
Survived By: She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Alyce Siverts Johnson and Audree Siverts. Her children, Lori Anderson Moseman and Mark Anderson, were fortunate to be with her during her final months. She was lucky to have her children's partners, Tom Moseman and Michele White, visit.
