Merritt Eugene Groft, 62, of 258 East Green Street, Westminster, died Friday, Mar. 4, 1960, at his home after a short illness. He was employeed by the State Highway Department for a number of years. He was a son of the late Joseph and Agnes Ott Groft.
Surviving are his widow, Helen Bowers Groft; five half sisters and a half-brother: Mrs. Ethel Tawney, Union Mills; Mrs. LaRue Naylor, Hampstead; Mrs. Elizabeth Ibex, Mrs. Ruth Bowers, Mrs. Betty Click and Charles Groft, Westminster.
Funeral services were held at the Myers Funeral Home, Westminster, Monday. The Rev. Robert H. Hiller, pastor of Westminster Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Westminster Cemetery.
