Beverly Jean Lambourn, 61, of Crystal Lake, died Thursday (April 22, 1999) in Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.
She was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Quincy, a daughter of Robert Lee and Goldie Maxine Henning Schafer.
She attended MacMurray College where she earned a degree as a teacher in physical education. After teaching in Wenona for a few years, Bev moved to Crystal Lake and once again pursued her career as a physical education teacher. Many of the Crystal Lake residents have had Beverly as a teacher during her 28 years at Canterbury Elementary where she received a Master Teachers Award.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Bethany Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura J. Campanella and her husband, Thomas, of Lake Villa, and Sarah L. Drake and her husband, Mark, of Rock Island; five grandchildren, Vincent, Onna, Nikko, Caleb and Aubrey; three sisters, Sandra Emmert and her husband, John, of Argenta, Bonnie Conover and her husband, Phillip, of Quincy and Marcia Grotte and her husband, John, of Coatsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Judith Bennett.
Services will be at noon Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake by the Rev. Gary LaCroix.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday in Bethany Lutheran Church and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Coatsburg. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or Educational Scholarship Fund.
The Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home in Crystal Lake is handling arrangements.
