Born Feb. 26, 1948, in Quincy, she was a daughter of Robert and Maxine Henning Schafer. She married Michael Bennett April 19, 1969, in Coatsburg. He survives.
Mrs. Bennett attended Unity High School in Mendon, where she was employed as a secretary. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Golden and Central Booster Club and was active in other school and church organizations.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Bennett of Genesa, Ala., Aaron Bennett of Warrensburg, Mo., and Shane Bennett of Golden; four sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Conover of Quincy, Mrs. Sandra Emmert of Argenta, Mrs. Marcia Grotte of Coatsburg and Mrs. Beverly Lambourn of Crystal Lake; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Golden by the Rev. Mark Eddy. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. The Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Tuesday in the church.
Memorials may be made to the Shane Bennett Educational Fund.
