Harry Miles Parker Jr., 94, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, six weeks shy of his 95th birthday. He passed away at the health center of his home at Paradise Valley Estates in Fairfield, California. He was born on Aug. 24, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Harry Sr. and Nellie (Roush) Parker.

Harry and Anita, his wife of 33 years, have lived in Fairfield for over 12 years. Prior to that, they lived in Saratoga, California.

After receiving his B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Harry spent 30 years as a U.S. Navy aviator and served his country during the Vietnam War. Harry retired from the service in 1974 with distinguished honors.

Harry had a passion for golf and excelled in the sport into his early 90s when he retired from the game.

He had a long and memorable life and will be missed by family and friends.

Harry is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Evan (Elton) Parker-Calderon of La Quinta, California, and Steven (Susy) Parker of Santa Cruz, California; two daughters, Marsha Parker of Peoria, Arizona, Leslie (Bruce) Allen of Scottsdale, Arizona; two stepdaughters, Debra Hall of Reno, Nevada, and Jill (Bill) Gatewood of Concord, California; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean; and his oldest son, Craig.

Interment service will be held at 10:30 a.m Thursday, July 18, 2019, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road Dixon, California.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be directed to the benevolence fund at Paradise Valley Estates Retirement Community in Fairfield, California.
