Naomi V. Baker, age 91, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge, VA. Born April 14, 1928, in Monroe County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Chris and Anne Riner.
Naomi was a member of the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Greenville, WV, and attended the Clifton Forge Baptist Church. She was employed as an evening cook at the hospital in Rosedale, then worked 8 years at Hercules, and lastly worked at the Liberty House Nursing Home, where she served as a cook for 17 years before retiring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hunter Baker; several brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Survivors include five sons, Roger and wife Linda of Harrisonburg, VA, Melvin of Greensboro, NC, Dean and wife Margaret of Winston Salem, NC, Wayne and wife Christie of Covington, VA, and Tony and wife Mary of Clifton Forge, VA; one brother, Joseph Riner and wife Josephine of Statesville, NC; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Mt. View Cemetery in Wikel, WV, with Rev. Joseph R. Martin officiating.
