He was a farmer, a construction worker and had worked at Corps of Engineers for eighteen years. He enjoyed reading, watching westerns and American Pickers on television, and going to flea markets and auctions. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Baker Brooks; son, Lloyd Brooks; daughter, Wilma Evans; and grandchildren, Samantha Jo Brooks and Johnathan Tyler Brooks.
Burial will be in the Woodcock Cemetery.
