His obituary seems to indicate that he was born in 1861 but most census reports give a birth year of 1862, including the 1911 and 1926 Canada and Canada Prairie Provinces censuses. Family records show that he was two years younger than his sister Minnie, who was born in 1860.
Albert, his mother, sister Minnie and brother Harry emigrated to Kansas from England in 1869 and joined his father in Ellsworth. Albert was in Oklahoma with his brother Arthur in 1900 and went to Canada in 1902. He made his living as a placer miner. His death registration shows that he was also a fireman. He never married.
