Joseph Wildfong, a resident of Montpelier, died at his home in that place last Wednesday. Mr. Wildfong was born in Waterloo, Canada, and in 1857 moved to Montpelier, this county, where he has resided ever since. Had he lived until the last day of this month he would have been 60 years of age. The cause of Mr. Wildfong's death is supposed to have been dropsy but of late years he has been troubled with fits.

Joseph married Rebecca Lutz on March 9, 1847 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They farmed in the Waterloo and Montpelier, Wisconsin areas. They had at least eight children ; Frannie, Daniel, Lydia, Rebecca, Susan, John, Moses and Joseph. Their daughters Rebecca, born in about 1855 and Susan, born in about 1857, both died BEFORE the 1865 Wisconsin State Census. His wife Rebecca, and children Daniel and John were deaf.
