She was born on May 13, 1921, in Goshen, a daughter of the late Wade and Ethel (Caldwell) Cowder.
Mrs. Gormont was a homemaker and was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Julia Valimont of Clearfield, Janice McCool and her husband, Thomas, of Clearfield and Bruce Gormont of Hazelton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Fledderman of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer F. Gormont on May 13, 1990, and whom she married Sept. 24, 1937; three sisters, Bessie Byrd, Vera Cowder and Alice Kephart; and a brother, Wade Cowder.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jennifer C. Heikes and the Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield.
