"Harry O. Wiebel, 89, of Hampton, passed away peacefully, in the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4108 21st Ave., Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church. Arrangements are by Schroder Mortuary. Harry was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Wilton Junction, Iowa, the son of Karl and Anna Sessler Wiebel. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army and retired from John Deere in Moline. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Sherian (Singleton) Robinson, DeWitt Ark., and Cheryl (Frye) and husband Mike McLaughlin, Hampton; stepgrandchildren, Sheba K. Snyder, Porter and Sheria Gill, all of Arkansas, Frank Dobbins, East Moline, Sam Dobbins, Colorado, Tera Elliott, Hampton; several stepgreat-and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lucielle (Singleton) Wiebel; two brothers; and a sister."
