BUTYNIEC, Stella (Mikus)
After a courageous battle, passed away on Friday, March 16th at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS at the age of 87.
Predeceased by her first husband Joseph Mikus, second husband Julian Butyniec, son Richard and sister Jenny. Beloved and devoted mother of Joan Mikus and Wanda Merry (Bob), and stepmother of Jules (Chris) and Jim (Gloria) Butyniec, and Eugenia Thomas. She will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters and brothers- Mary, Mike (Edith), John, Sophie, Steffie (Andy), Wanda and Florence.
Stella was born in Poland in 1919 and came to Canada in 1931. She was Past Secretary of the Polish Ladies Club, Branch #6, a member of the Polish Ladies Club SPK and a member of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church.
Stella's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, March 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Thursday, March 22nd at 11am. Rite of Committal Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers for Stella at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3pm.
If desired, memorial donations to the St. Catharines General Hospital-Oncology or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
