Marion C. Van Houte

Macedon: Peacefully went to join her husband Harold of 26 years in heaven on April 3, 2019 at the age 91. Marion was born on January 8, 1928 in Walworth, NY. Her parents were Felix and Eva Craig. She is survived by a sister, Sally Boyce of Connecticut. Several nieces and nephews in Connecticut. Her step children, Susan (James) Sachs and Doug (Marianne) Van Houte, their children and grandchildren. Other surviving family members include sisters-in-law, Ruth Smith and Betty (Dick) Lowley plus many friends.

Marion was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Macedon and spent many years volunteering at the Fairport Baptist Home. She was a captain with the Civil Air Patrol and a 50-year member of the order of the Tri-Star Chapter of Eastern Star. Marion enjoyed family functions, traveling and doing needlepoint crafts. She loved watching the various birds visiting her bird feeders and working out in her yard and gardens.

Marion thought she was an only child until she discovered she had a sister living in Connecticut. They have kept in contact through the years after discovering each other. Marion also had been corresponding with people who live in France where her mother immigrated from in 1924 at the age of 24.

To honor Marion, family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at The First Baptist Church of Macedon, 58 West Main St., Macedon, NY 14502 on Saturday (May 4) at 2 PM.

Interment will take place at the Macedon Village Cemetery
