WILLIAM ANDREW BURKE JR.
William Andrew Burke Jr. of Beaverton, died Saturdya, June 16, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw after a short illness. Born Nov. 9, 1925 in Midland, hewas the son of the late William A. and Edith (Asch) Burke. John married the former Hazel Maxine (Hoxey), March 10, 1950. He enjoyed many wonderful years milking cattle and farming He was also employed at The Dow Chemical Company for 17 years. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945. He was a member of the Community of Christ (Formerly RLDS) Church in Beaverton.
Surviving are one son, John of Beaverton; three daughters, Kathleen (Jack) Harrison of Carrolton, Texas, Brenda (David)Garver of Farwell, and Laurie Burke of Ithaca; a long-time companion, Susan Leppert of Beaverton; three sisters, Dorothy Raetz of Midland, Gretta Brooks of Suttons Bay, and Karen (Fred) Provost of Midland; one brother-in-law, Robert (Carol) Campbell of Midland; six grandchildren Kristen (Harrison) Bedell, Mark and Rick Harrison, all of Texas, Kathleen, Andrew, and Mary Garver of Farwell; three great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Chris, and Jack Bedell of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by one son, William (Billy) Andrew III; one grandson, Alex Alan Burke; and one sister, Elna Campbell. Services will be conducted by Evangelist Robert Campbell and Elder Thomas Rodabaugh of the Community of Christ Church at the Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton, today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. Those planning to make an expression of sympathy may make donations to the Leukemia Society of America.
