Deborah Jean "Debi" Reeves, 58, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014. She died unexpectedly at home.

Debi was born on August 10, 1956. She was the daughter of Benjamin Jackson Reeves and the late Jean Woodfin Reeves.

Debi was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and Liberty Baptist College. She devoted her life to teaching and supporting young people for over thirty-six years. For some years she has been teaching history at Liberty High School.

Debi was completely devoted to her students, her family, and her friends. She exemplified what it was to be a Christian woman. Debi was not only an excellent teacher, but a comforter, a listening ear, an advisor, and a friend. She made such an impact on the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She always put others' needs ahead of her own and her unselfish acts of kindness will always be her legacy.

Debi is survived by her father, Benjamin Jackson Reeves; a brother, George T. Reeves and his wife, Lilly; three nephews, five nieces, three great nieces, one great nephew, and her devoted friends: Jeannie Skinner, Mary Louise Toms, and Nicole Manley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg from 6:30-8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, with the Pastor Dennis Hollandsworth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501, or to the American Cancer Society- Breast Cancer Research, 2050 Langhorne Road, Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501
