LEBANON ENTERPRISE OBITUARY – 10/13/2004.
Mary Genevieve Nalley, 87, Loretto, died at 8 p.m. October 8, 2004, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Loretto. Born January 2, 1917, in Loretto, Nalley worked as a nurse's aid and housekeeper at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Loretto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ivo Nalley Sr.; parents, James Monroe & Lucy Ann Nalley Downs; an infant son, Joseph Gary Nalley; two daughters, Margaret Ann Chesher and Frances Elizabeth Mattingly; four sisters, Florence Corbett, Mary Nalley, Agnes Mattingly and Ella Kelty; and three brothers, Joe, John & Zoller Downs. Survivors include: six daughters, Omia Kelty of Springfield, Bonnie Wade, Brenda Conder and Sheila Warner, all of Bardstown, Angela Couch and Genny Lovingood, both of Loretto; three sons, Leon Nalley of Loretto and Jerry Nalley and Henry Ivo Nalley Jr., both of New Haven; 53 grandchildren; and a number of great- and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was held October 11 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle officiated. Pallbearers were grandsons, James, Greg "Curly" & Troy Nalley, Mike Williamson, Chad Harris, Mike Kelty and Anthony Wade. Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of the arrangements.
