GARLAND SARRATT
~ Garland Sarratt, 87, of 1174 Pleasant School Rd., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1991, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
~ A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Ed and Sally Huskey Sarratt and the husband of Eloise Wood Sarratt. His first wife was the late Ethel Sarratt. He was a charter member of New Heights Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
~ Also surviving are two sons, Edward Sarratt of the home and William G. (Bill) Sarratt of Spartanburg; two daughters, Gayle S. Phillips of Camden and Gladys S. Smoak of Gaffney; one brother, Ibra Sarratt of Gaffney; four sisters, Mrs. Roy Davis of Gaffney, Mrs. Ralph Shigley and Mrs. Edward Pendry, both of Hays, N.C., and Mrs. Jack Hendrick of Chesterfield; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
~ Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at New Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m.
~ Pallbearers will be Nelson Hendrick, Joe Hendrick, Jim Sarratt, Frank Sarratt, Danny Sarratt, Steve Wood, Eddie Pendry and Reggie Pendry.
~ Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.
