Francis R. Pickin, 87, of Danville entered eternal rest on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 27, 1931, in Danville, a son of the late Josephine (Lyons) and Frank T. Pickin.

He graduated from Danville Area High School in the Class of 1949. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and received several medals for his service in Korea. He worked as a machine operator at American Home Foods in Milton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville, the Danville Moose Lodge #1133, and enjoyed bowling with his colleagues.

In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by siblings: William, Catherine, Betty, Charles, John, and Mary.

He is survived by his brother, Joseph Pickin of Danville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019, at St. Joseph Church, 68 Center St., Danville, with his pastor, the Rev. James E. Lease, as celebrant. Friends may visit at St. Hubert’s Chapel (located in the annex of St. Joseph Church) from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Danville.
