She attended school at Booker T. Washington in Tipton. Lorene worked as a home provider for many years. Her family was her life; she was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for the entire family.
She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Grace Watts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Connie Love of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carrie Hill of Tipton, Oklahoma and Cleo Hampton of Duncan, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Darrin Warr, William Love and Brian Love and his wife Aisha; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Vergia Johnson; two sons, Billy Ray Love and Eddie Ray “Chickey” Whitehead; one granddaughter, Casandra Jefferson; six sisters, Lela Mae Johnson, Willie Mae Jackson, Lue Eva Stevenson, Arnetta Jones, Jessie Faye Wright, Mella Dean Hill; and two brothers, Levi Johnson and Sanders Johnson.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Tipton with Rev. Donald Altom officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.
