Our direct ancestor, Fulkard Sebring was born 1745 near New Brunswick, New Jersey, son of Johannes (John) Seabring (1702-73) and Petronella Auten. He died 1822 in Genoa Township, Delaware County, and was buried in an unmarked grave in Red Bank Cemetery. Nearly every grave in the cemetery traces their lineage to Fulkard. Years later, his remains were accidently uncovered while a grave was being dug for his grandson, George Washington Sebring who lived 1819 to 1908. Fulkard's remains were attired in his soldier's uniform. The grave was later marked by the Delaware County Chapter D.A.R. with a bronze plaque. Fulkard served as a Private
