Mrs. Nellie B. Boyd, 66, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at her home.

The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Boyd, a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a graduate of Greenville High School and attended Pitt Community College.

She was employed at East Carolina University for a number of years and attended the Washington Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Lossie Corey Braxton and a brother, James A. Braxton.

Surviving are husband, Bobby G. Boyd; two daughters, Debbie Sauls and husband, Ryan, and Melinda Bateman and husband, Gene; grandchildren, Jordan, Cory, Sarah and Cody; sister, Nancy Taylor and husband, Bobby, of Ayden; brother, Ed Braxton and wife, Ann; foster brother, Harry Braxton of Virginia Beach, Va.; foster sisters, Liddie Hendrix and Evelyn Donato of Norfolk, Va.; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Cooper.
