She was born in Danville, IL on September 21, 1941, the daughter of the late David and Marjorie (Acton) Ashcraft. Carolyn was raised in Collison, IL and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1959. She had resided in the Hillsboro area since 1962.
Carolyn worked as a office secretary at the Fountain Central High School and later as a cashier/clerk for the Hershberger Pharmacy in Veedersburg. More recently she worked at Myers Department Store until her retirement. She also assisted her husband and son by cooking at the Sale Barn in Veedersburg. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She enjoyed cooking.
On July 18, 1959, Carolyn married John N. Curtis in Collison, IL.
She leaves behind her husband; two sons; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Voorhees; and a brother, David Bain Ashcraft.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM with Rev. Garland Pannell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
