Billie Jean Adah Campbell, 86, passed away on May 15, 2019 at Olathe Hospice House.
She was born on August 8, 1932 to William and Mabel (Myers) Kling at Concordia, KS.
Billie Jean was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.
She was proud alumni of the University of Kansas and spent 15 years working in the university system in the Continuing Education and Media departments. After leaving KU she began work in the Topeka Public Schools where she finished her career caring and teaching children with special needs.
On June 21, 1953, she married John Cloud Campbell in Topeka Kansas at Trinity Methodist Church.
Together, they moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area for John to attend seminary where they lived in Peabody and Scituate. They returned to Kansas to family and many church appointments with the United Methodist Church. They made their home in Cherryvale, Pittsburg, Osage City, Ottawa and Pomona.
Although a pastor's wife for years and being involved in a number of church congregations through her many moves, her last church membership was with St. Paul's Methodist Church in Raymore, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents, and in-laws John Wiley Campbell and Hazel Campbell, brother-in-law John Ruf, sister-in-law Geneva Ruth Sutherland and husband Bud, sister-in-law Geraldine Moon and husband Chuck, and niece Debi Blanchard.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, at 10:00 am at Penwell-Gabel - Olathe Chapel, with a family burial to follow in the Sabetha Cemetery.
