Wanda began her teaching career in Torbrook Mines in 1954, teaching 42 students from grade primary to 12 in a one room schoolhouse. In 1948 she married the love her life, Frank, and travelled with him around Canada in Air Force postings. As a couple they loved to dance and play cards with friends and family. They returned to their beloved Annapolis Valley in 1953. Wanda had many accomplishments. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved gardening and interior decorating. She was a long-time member of the Rebekkah’s and Kingston United Baptist church. She enjoyed summers, fishing, picking blueberries, strawberries and mayflowers as well as going to Frenchy’s. Wanda was a talented singer and participated in skits and presentations at senior’s homes. Her biggest pride in life was her loving family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Stephen Manson (Lorraine); daughter Wanda Joy (Michael) Lynch; grandchildren Vivian, Maggie, and Stevie Bezanson (Jenny).
She was predeceased by husband Frank in 1993; brothers Neil and Vaughan; and sisters Vera, Rita, Florence, and Pansy.
