Major League Baseball Player. He pitched for Major League Baseball's Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles/California Angels, and Houston Astros from 1957 to 1967. Born Arnold Barry Latman, he played high school baseball in Los Angeles, California before attending the University of Southern California on a baseball scholarship. In 1955, he signed with Chicago White Sox and played the next three years in the minor leagues before joining the main club in September of 1957. He pitched for the White Sox for the next two and half years before joining the Cleveland Indians in 1960. As a member of the White Sox, he was a part of their 1959 American League championship team and was 6th in strikeouts in the American League that same year. He went on to pitch for the Indians for four seasons before joining the Los Angeles Angels before the 1964 season. During his years with the Indians, he was named to two All-Star teams (1961 and 1962) and was 4th in the American League with a .722 winning percentage. He pitched for the Angels for two seasons before joining the Houston Astros for his final two years in professional baseball (1966 and 1967). His career statistics included 59 wins, 68 losses, 829 strikeouts, and an 3.91 ERA (Earned Run Average).
