David Calhoun was born February 21, 1938 and traveled home to his Father on May 18, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Harold Calhoun, and his sisters Beverly, Arlene and Darlene, a father in law, Thomas Hensel, Sr., and a sister-in-law Kathy Hensel.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betsy; his six children Dawn (Jeff) Aaberg, David (Missy) Calhoun, Brenda (Matt) Peterson, Holly (Jerry) Thompson, Jeff (Shelley) Calhoun, and John Calhoun; 11 grandchildren Amanda (Benton) Stelzel, Jackson and Logan Calhoun, Kesley and Kailey Peterson, Rheanna and Zoe Thompson, Brooke and Connor Calhoun, and Jazmine and Ryker Calhoun; and two great grandchildren, Barrett and Astrid Stelzel.
David held various jobs throughout his life but the ones that brought him the greatest satisfaction were ones where he was tending to others. He farmed in the Deerfield area for many years on the family farm as well as raised mink. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His large gardens and orchard fed his family and in later years the local food pantries and schools benefited from that bounty as well. His greatest joy however was his family Dad made a friend wherever he went travelling the back roads of Wisconsin and oftentimes “I love you” came in the form of vegetables from his garden, a flat of strawberries or even a bouquet of roses in a Mason jar for no reason at all. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor and love of practical jokes. His passing leaves a huge void in our hearts and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 454 E. Church Rd, Cambridge, WI. There will be a private burial with the family.
