Debra Jeanne (Salavantis) Sutton, 32, of 449 East Main St, North Adams, died March 29, at Albany (NY) Medical Center.
She was born in North Adams, Jan. 11, 1954 and was the daughter of Lillian (Shafer) Salavantis and the late John Salavantis. She attended local schools and graduated in 1972 from Drury High School. She also graduated from the hair-dressing program at Charles H. McCann Technical School.
In 1976, she joined the Army and was stationed in Ansbach, Germany for two and a half years prior to her discharge in 1982.
She attended Berkshire Community College and North Adams State College.
At the time of her death, she was a computer operator at Cascade School Supplies Co., North Adams.
Mrs. Sutton was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams.
Besides her mother, she leaves a son, James H. Sutton; two brothers John and William; five sisters Janice Chenail, Judith Dominguez, Nancy Salmon, Linda Alonso, and Dale Medina; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held Tuesday, April 1, 1986 with burial in Southview Cemetery.
